It Feels Illegal – YT Launches the AVINOX M2S fueled DECOY X E-MTB

YT DECOY X Lands, Full Power, No Shortcuts. YT has just dropped the DECOY X, and it is very clear what this bike is about. Full power. Proper enduro geometry. Built to be ridden hard, not just talked about.

This is not a lightweight, compromise eMTB. The DECOY X is designed for riders who want maximum support on the climb and full confidence on the descent. Long days, steep terrain, big hits, repeat laps. That is the brief, and everything on this bike points in that direction.

YT Decoy X Launch Edition

What it actually delivers

  • Real climbing power, not just assistance
  • Enduro geometry that holds speed when things get rough
  • Mixed wheel setup for control and playfulness
  • A platform that works just as well on all-day missions as it does on gravity laps

Enduro first, always

160mm rear travel paired with a 170mm fork tells you everything you need to know. This is an enduro bike first, with a motor added to extend what is possible in a single ride.

The MX wheel setup keeps the front planted and predictable, while the 27.5 rear keeps the bike easy to move around. Shorter chainstays and compact rear end give it that responsive, poppy feel when you want to push off lips or change direction quickly.

Frame built to take it

YT has gone alloy here for a reason. Durability, consistency, and cost that stays grounded. This is a bike that is meant to be ridden hard, not babied.

  • Hydroformed alloy frame
  • Integrated battery
  • Clean internal cable routing
  • Full frame protection where it matters
  • UDH compatibility for easy drivetrain support

It is a practical build. Everything has a purpose. Nothing feels like it is there for marketing.

Geometry that makes sense

YT has stuck with what works. Stable at speed, efficient under power, and still easy to move underneath you when the trail gets tight or steep.

Short seat tubes mean more dropper, more clearance, and better control. Across the size range, you are getting proper dropper lengths, up to 240mm on XXL.

The suspension layout follows the same thinking. Sensitive off the top for grip, supportive through the mid-stroke, and enough progression to deal with big compressions and landings without blowing through travel.

Flip chip, simple but useful

You get two positions:

  • Regular for better pedal clearance and technical climbing
  • Low for a more planted, aggressive feel on descents

It is a small 4mm change at the bottom bracket, but it is enough to tune how the bike feels depending on where you ride most.

The AVINOX system, this is the headline

The DECOY X introduces the new AVINOX drive unit, and the numbers are not subtle.

  • 130Nm torque, 150Nm in boost
  • 1300W peak power
  • 800Wh Battery
  • 2.6kg motor weight

This is serious output. Not just to make climbing easier, but to change how much terrain you can cover in one ride.

YT has also focused on integration. Compact motor size, reduced noise, and a clean interface with the frame. It is not just about power; it is about how that power is delivered.

Battery that matches the intent

800Wh across all sizes. No split options, no compromise.

  • 0 to 75 percent in 1.5 hours with the fast charger
  • Long term durability with 80 percent capacity after 500 cycles

This is built for real ride time, not short bursts.

Details that riders will notice

  • Proper skid plate protection with heat management
  • Quiet frame protection to reduce trail noise
  • Space for a full-size water bottle
  • Rear axle lever that doubles as a 6mm tool
  • Clean, fully guided cable routing

Nothing groundbreaking individually, but together it adds up to a bike that is easier to live with and ride day to day.

Launch build

The launch model is the DECOY X Launch Edition AL in Smoke Silver, built with a properly high-end kit:

  • FOX Podium Factory fork
  • FOX X2 Factory shock
  • SRAM XO Transmission AXS drivetrain
  • SRAM Maven brakes
  • DT Swiss HX1500 wheelset
  • Continental Kryptotal tyres

Where it sits

This is now YT’s most powerful eMTB. It sits above the DECOY SN and alongside the DECOY MX, but fills a different role.

If the SN is about a lighter feel and the MX is gravity-focused, the DECOY X is the one that covers everything, with no shortage of power to back it up.

What we say

The DECOY X is not trying to be subtle. It is built for riders who want more laps, more distance, and more capability in one ride.

Big motor, big battery, proper enduro geometry, and a frame that is built to last. Simple as that.

Availability: The DECOY X Launch Edition is available via Expression of Interest. Initial allocation is limited. The full range of CORE models will be available in Summer '26. Save your pennies, these bikes have the X-factor. Price & Performance second to none!
