La Thuile DH Delivers: Steep, Savage, and World Cup Worthy
The UCI Mountain Bike World Series saw a thrilling debut in La Thuile, Italy, this past weekend. Featuring one of the steepest and most technically demanding downhill tracks the series has ever faced.
The Track: Raw, Rooty, Ruthless
La Thuile’s new course is brutal — 2.3 km of steep alpine terrain dropping 641 m, littered with narrow chutes, loose off-cambers, roots, and natural rock features. Riders described it as “relentlessly steep and technical,” demanding flawless line choice and control just to make it through qualifying.
Race Highlights: Goldstone’s Fourth in a Row
Jackson Goldstone continued his dominance with a fourth consecutive win, managing to stay clean while many others faltered on the treacherous course. With rain hitting late runs, the stakes and intensity couldn’t have been higher.
On the women's side, Nina Hoffmann secured victory, with YT‑MOB’s Valentina Höll in second. A strong showing in one of the most challenging venues yet.
