The second-generation Maxxis Dissector takes the proven speed and precision of the original and dials it up with a completely re-engineered tread for sharper cornering, improved braking, and better all-round control. Designed with input from professional riders, the new Gen 2 keeps its fast-rolling DNA while adding serious traction upgrades for aggressive trail, enduro, and e-MTB riding.

The biggest change is in the side knobs – now larger, with a bigger footprint and revised siping to increase bite and stability in high-load turns. This redesign delivers a more predictable feel, resists knob flex on hardpack, and keeps the tire locked in when railing corners or pushing through rocky chutes. Engagement is quicker too, so you get that planted, confident grip the moment you lean the bike over.

The center tread retains the familiar 2–3–2 layout, but the triple center blocks are now split into individual knobs. This boosts braking traction, improves conformity to uneven terrain, and delivers a smoother, more consistent roll. Transition knobs have been shifted outward, blending the hand-off between center and side knobs for a balanced, drift-free lean. Revised siping across the board means improved wet-weather edge grip and enhanced durability over long miles.

From dry, hardpacked singletrack to rocky and rooty technical trails, the Dissector Gen 2’s versatility makes it a killer option for a wide range of bikes. Run it up front on a short- to mid-travel trail bike for maximum speed and control, or throw it on the rear of a long-travel enduro setup for a faster, more efficient alternative to heavier tread patterns.
